Description
THE PROJECT
The resounding success of their artistic installation "Leonardestic flying machines" about the imaginary of flying in 1994, its creators Serge Reynaud and Claudia Marchesin (a married couple in real life) have chosen to settle their work in the small village where they live, an hour distance from Grenoble and Gap in the southern department of the Isère region : The Trièves (French Alps).
The purpose is to create an educational and technical space able to welcome a certain amount of people for art training course (such as drawing, sculpture, painting, engraving etc...) ,lectures (art history, Art and Science), workshop for children and adults, etc...
The studio-gallery " Les Ateliers de Leonardo" will allow to exibit not only Art of Flying, their own works (see www.art-of-flying.com), but also other artist's creation in this same spirit Art and Science.
GOALS
Giving an artistic education in the spirit of one Leonardo da Vinci of the 21th century, with adequate technical training, cultivating sensitivity to the world of colors, learning free drawing and observation, modeling, sculpture, engraving etc...Covering tools from sketching to the technical programming in order to create a "Flying machine". History of arts, the geometrical perspective and its history, etc...including observation of natural events,eg.whirling and whirlpool, vortex, vegetables and animals shapes etc...
"LES ATELIERS de LEONARDO" space will be wide open to the local population, (around 10 000 inhabitants), and also extending to the Grenoble inhabitants (around 300 000 people), living close to our village and willing to discover this charming site through the activities we will be offering.
We already know the greatest interest people have manifested for our project (ref.to our site www.art-of-flying.com). Our activities will be reasonably priced to allow everyone to join.

What is my contribution for?
Describe your project goal
At present, Art of Flying workshop uses a creation studio space that includes a drawing studio (20m²), a space for small carpentry and various other works as sculpture, modeling, welding, painting (30m²) and a stockspace (40m²). All these crammed in a limited space.
Our project is to expand a new space of about 80m² next to the existing one which is actually a half basement garage .
This extension will be built with bio-climatic process with the help of professionals but also partly by ourselves.
GOALS AND VIABILITY
During our professional activity we acquired experience, knowledge and knows-how, and it is time now to pass on this experience and learning especially to the younger generation.
We would like to pass on the joy of creation and the enthusiasm for the future, using Leonardo da Vinci 's method, Art and Science.
LEVELS
if we put together between € 3,000 and € 10,000, we will improve the existing one which needs it well and thus gain a few m².
If we are close to € 30,000 , we will be able to create a new luminous space for drawing and workshops of about 20 m², by enlarging and transforming the north balcony.
If we excee € 30,000, (that we whish!)and more we can then consider an extension of the garage that serves as our workshop.
Currently our accommodation costs 850€/month. We cannot exceed this monthly reimbursement threshold. It is therefore out of the question for us to take out a new bank loan.
That is why we call for participatory funding. We have always been our own patron.
But the restriction of the french budgets of culture forces us to ask for help, otherwise we will not be able to realize "Les Ateliers de Léonardo" which are the natural continuation of our work as artists. Without patrons, there are no artists, no cultural productions.
WE' LL BE GRATEFUL TO YOU FOR BEING THE PATRONS OF THIS BEAUTIFUL PROJECT.
EXPECTATION
We hope that by raising the necessary fund we can realise this educational and artistic project that we had in mind since a long time.
We have always practice our art with in mind teaching of esthetic to all public but especially to young people.
This project comes as the ultimate act of our professional life hoping that it will leave its mark in the local cultural life.
We thank all those to help us to achieve this project.
WE WILL BE HAPPY TO WELCOME ALL THE CONTRIBUTORS
IN OUR STUDIO AND TO PRESENT THEM OUR WORK
